Feedback and virtual environments for motor learning and rehabilitation

چکیده

Believable Visual Feedback in Motor Learning Using Occlusion-based Clipping in Video Mapping
Gait rehabilitation systems provide patients with guidance and feedback that assist them to better perform the rehabilitation tasks. Real-time feedback can guide users to correct their movements. Research has shown that the quality of feedback is crucial to enhance motor learning in physical rehabilitation. Common feedback systems based on virtual reality present interactive feedback in a monit...
متن کاملThe Effect of Knowledge of Result Feedback Timing on Speech Motor Learning in Healthy Adults
Objectives: The current study mainly aimed at studying the effect of Knowledge of Result (KR) feedback timing and result-estimation opportunity before receiving delayed KR on learning a new speech motor skill in monolingual healthy adults. Methods: Thirty-nine Persian healthy adults were randomly divided into three groups. Each group received immediate KR, delayed KR (after eight seconds), or...
متن کاملEmergence of virtual reality as a tool for upper limb rehabilitation: incorporation of motor control and motor learning principles.
The primary focus of rehabilitation for individuals with loss of upper limb movement as a result of acquired brain injury is the relearning of specific motor skills and daily tasks. This relearning is essential because the loss of upper limb movement often results in a reduced quality of life. Although rehabilitation strives to take advantage of neuroplastic processes during recovery, results o...
متن کاملVirtual reality environments to enhance upper limb functional recovery in patients with hemiparesis.
Impairments in reaching and grasping have been well-documented in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. Patients have deficits in spatial and temporal coordination and may use excessive trunk displacement to assist arm transport during performance of upper limb tasks. Studies of therapeutic effectiveness have shown that repetitive task-specific practice may improve motor function outcomes. Mov...
متن کاملStudents Satisfaction on Blended Learning in the School of Sport Sciences
Background. Blended learning (BL) requires a virtual learning and online environment (VLE), which makes available a process for establishing learning communities. The Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan designed several courses which incorporate blended learning with contact classes and online components on e-learning models. Objectives. The present study is to investigat...
متن کاملVirtual Environments for Motor Rehabilitation: Review
In this paper, the current "state of the art" for virtual reality (VR) applications in the field of motor rehabilitation is reviewed. The paper begins with a brief overview of available equipment options. Next, a discussion of the scientific rationale for use of VR in motor rehabilitation is provided. Finally, the major portion of the paper describes the various VR systems that have been develo...
